Purity Ring, Evian Christ, and Headaches

There have been a few albums that have been on constant rotation for me all summer (and now fall) - Purity Ring's "Shrines" is one of them. So needless to say, I was really looking forward to checking out their live show and photographing them at Lincoln Hall. As you can see from the photos, they had a pretty interesting set with cocoons of light hovering above them, synchronizing with their sexy, hypnotic beats. Overall, they sounded fantastic and are a band I'd definitely recommend seeing live. They'll make you dance. Openers Headaches, and then Evian Christ, both has solid sets and helped to establish the mood and build up the excitement for Purity Ring. I'd be on the lookout for Evian Christ; he's an up-and-comer, in my humble opinion.

Purity Ring, Megan James. Great lyricist.

Purity Ring, Corin Roddick. (That's his custom made drum instrument that is a synchronized source of both the sound and the lights. Very cool.)
