One of my favorite bands, My Morning Jacket, rolled through Chicago with Band of Horses (also awesome), on August 22nd to play the stunning Jay Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park. No matter how many times I see these bands, they have a way of making each performance seem unique and special, and their show at Millennium Park was no exception. Both bands have an extensive spectrum of sound - just one of the reasons that make them such solid live bands. I'd even go so far as to say that My Morning Jacket is hands down one of the greatest bands in the world to see live. They put absolutely everything into their shows - Jim James' gorgeous voice swirling around combined with their light show is beautiful enough. But every member of the band adds something to the live performance and you can't help but fall in love with their hairy little bodies flailing all over the stage. Don't believe me? I guess you'll just have to go and see them then.
