A little over a year ago I was at The Hideout to see Angel Olsen, when a relatively new duo (now a trio), Water Liars, took the stage to open the show. After a few songs those southern boys had me completely captivated. Between their poetic (and often brutally honest) lyrics, their perfect harmonies, and their tendency to sound hard one minute and soft the next, I was instantly hooked. They returned to Chicago a few weeks ago in support of their latest album (which is self-titled) and put on a really nice show at Schubas. Check them out! To see more of my photos, click here.
