Well I'm finally getting around to posting some of my photos from the Pitchfork Music Festival (a month later). It's been a pretty hectic summer and it's not about to slow down because I'm getting married in October (!!!). Despite my schedule into the fall, I'll still do my very best to keep some posts coming your way. Anyway, Pitchfork is one of my favorite festivals purely because of its consistently impressive lineups year after year. It was impossible for me to see all of the talent showcased over the weekend, but I still managed to see a good amount of it. Enjoy the photos!
The incredible Joanna Newsom.
You could hear a pin drop while she was playing.
Björk blowing minds on Friday.
Low. Check out their beautiful new album, The Invisible Way.
The Breeders wrapping up their set.
Solange is completely awesome.
Thank you, backstage, for the 84 Tito's Moscow Mules I consumed throughout the weekend.
The crowd at Union Park.
Indie icons Belle and Sebastian closed out Pitchfork Saturday.
Volunteers cooled down the crowd on Saturday.
Killer Mike. I love this man.
El-P. Another man I love.
And here they are together Running the Jewels. One of my favorite sets of the whole weekend.
Run the Jewels also collaborated with Goose Island to make their own beer. It was seriously delicious.
Yo La Tengo. Amazing as ever.
This is how Yo La Tengo makes people feel.
The crowd went nuts for him.
And this dude could not have been more thrilled to be ripped down by security while crowd surfing.
A shaded break from the stages.
M.I.A. never ceases to bring her A game to the stage.
This kid is adorable. He was so amused by the crowd. And he looks like a mini member of Wilco.
R. Kelly finished off the 3-day festival by playing all of his hits, free-styling about how sweaty he was, and getting emotional during "I Believe I Can Fly."
